After 23 consecutive years in college football, Kirk Hoza left the collegiate coaching ranks after the 2009 season to work on a parachurch ministry vision. Kirk accepted an offer to become the Assistant Director of the Sports Ministry at Calvary Chapel Ft. Lauderdale in August of 2010.
Among Kirk’s responsibilities at Calvary is the development of the athletic coaches. Along with Sports Ministry Director and former Miami Dolphin Trent Gamble, Kirk has written and presents a curriculum for coaching development entitled the Intentional Coaches Clinic. Initially designed to serve the Calvary athletic department, the clinic is now presented outside the Calvary community.
Early in 2011, Calvary Chapel’s leadership asked Kirk to pray about leading the Calvary football program. In addition to his other duties within Sports Ministry, Kirk now serves as the Head Varsity Football Coach and oversees the junior varsity, middle school, 6th grade and intramural programs.
Kirk also serves as a consultant to Sunshine Preps, the premier recruiting service in Florida and the southeastern United States.
