Counter Culture Sports Camps are open to everyone, but our heart is to provide opportunities to young men who possess the athletic potential to excel regardless socioeconomic status. Unfortunately many, who possess the talent, do not possess the financial support necessary to attend camp. Sponsorship covers the cost of the camp (housing, food, insurance, coaching staff, teaching staff, athletic training staff, facilities, etc.). In addition to the 5 night/6 day camp, the ministry model requires involvement with campers from across the state throughout the year. Maintaining solid relationships with Pastoral Sponsors and PILOTs within campers’ communities is critical. While the week of camp is central to the ministry, continued engagement is necessary for lasting impact.
As attendees are recognized for their leadership, coaches are more inclined to identify sponsors within their own communities to insure leadership is continually developed in their programs. In this way, Counter Culture Sports Camps possess the potential to become self-sustaining. We prayerfully see the day when funding a future leader’s spot at Counter Culture Sports Leadership Camp becomes a priority for high school coaches, and recruiting Leadership Camp graduates minimizes uncertainty for college recruiters around the country.
